Ang Trip ni Rizal

What is Ang Trip ni Rizal?

Ang Trip ni Rizal is a group of trippers, inviting you to discover and experience the splendor of our magnificent province, Rizal.  Starting from Antipolo City going up to Pililia, the last province of Rizal, Ang Trip ni Rizal will accompany you in exploring its must-see destinations.  From the baroque centuries old churches (one even dating from the 16th century), to the majestic waterfalls that break the monotony of the mountains landscapes;  From the artists’ row, hometown of national artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco, among others, to the oldest known artwork called rock graffiti, dating back 3,000 B.C.  Feast your senses not only with God’s majestic works of nature but also with the province’s enchanting food delicacies – the famous suman and kasuy, exotic meals of nilasing na palaka (frog legs) and stir-fried crickets.  Dine by the Tabing Lawa or with a view of Manila’s skyline.

Where is Rizal Province?

Rizal is a mountainous province that sits 20 kilometers east of Manila.  Getting there takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour via C6, Ortigas Avenue or Marcos Highway.

Perched on the western slopes of the southern portion of the Sierra Madre mountain range, Rizal’s only city, Antipolo, boasts of a breathtaking view of the metro, with its skyline wonderfully enhanced by the city’s night lights.

Most of the province’s southern towns lie in the northern shores of Laguna de Bay, the country’s largest inland body of water, making the road trip around the coastal towns a scenic route all the way to Laguna.

Why Rizal? Bakit trip ko to?

Named after our country’s national hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Mecado Rizal, the 132,000 hectares of majestic mountains, land and bodies of water are made up of 13 municipalities and 1 city, Antipolo.  It has a population of 4 million, among them famous painters and talented artisans known for their pottery, wood works and world class furniture.  Many Rizalenos have been cited for their contribution to nature and ecology through organic farming and innovative ways of making dairy products.
